Hi! I am Sarah.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, RDN
- Functional Nutrition Counselor, CFNC
I am devoted to helping my clients uncover the root causes of their symptoms and ultimately restore health through individualized diet and lifestyle changes.
12 years ago, in my NYC office, I was chatting with a co-worker about food and fitness. Suddenly, something clicked. I had been thinking about a career change for a while and it became clear that I wanted to pursue my true passion for food and nutrition. I returned to school to study nutrition, completed a Clinical Dietetic Internship and passed the Registered Dietitian Exam.
My dietitian training taught me how to counsel patients on managing symptoms, but I knew I could take my clients a step further on their health journey. Becoming a Functional Nutrition Counselor has trained me in using a Functional Nutrition approach.
As a result of my training and philosophy
I am on a mission to help others regain health and reverse symptoms of chronic disease. Together we can uncover the root cause of your symptoms, listen to your amazing body, and begin on a journey to heal.
My Story
When I think back to my childhood, I remember missing out on social events because of stomach aches. I was often too bloated to zip my pants. I was told by a gastroenterologist that I had IBS and was sent on my way with no dietary guidance AT ALL! I thought I was doomed for a lifetime of stomach issues.
As an adult I had IBS, chronic knee, neck and joint pain, brain fog, low energy and keratosis pilaris (pimples on arms). I had seen many doctors over the years and none of my symptoms ever amounted to a diagnosis. I was given no guidance on symptom relief or finding the cause of my symptoms. I felt stuck and frustrated.

The lifelong pimply skin on my arms disappeared when I replaced dairy with vegan milk alternatives! I was blown away. And who would have thought that knee pain could be related to gluten? I certainly didn’t!
By focusing on nutrition I was able to uncover the root cause of my symptoms and begin on my health journey and heal.
My Husband’s Story
A few years ago my husband, Kurt, was having chest pains. He was certain he had a heart condition. All cardiac tests came back normal. He also suffered from chronic congestion, brain fog and low energy. He did not have a medical diagnosis, but he was not getting better.
I suggested diet modifications; and though he was weary, he got on board. He saw firsthand how good I was feeling, and he wanted to feel good again too.
He wanted to feel a sense of control over his health and take steps towards positive change. It took some patience, but we were able to resolve ALL his symptoms with dietary changes.
All roads of my journey have led me to this conclusion: The food we put into our bodies matter!
My Daughter’s Story
This was my first big lesson as a mom – some things are out of our control. These meds were saving our baby’s kidney.

Over the years we have made diet modifications which have hugely impacted her anxiety, focus, sleep, and mood. We will always wonder if the antibiotics caused her food intolerances but we will never know for sure.
She is now a happy 9 year old with two fully functioning kidneys. She is able to eat in restaurants and participate in all celebrations involving food with some advance planning. When she eats something that doesn’t agree with her or misses a supplement she notices changes in her mood and symptoms. We are constantly working on healing her gut and she is now able to tolerate more foods. It’s empowering when we listen to our bodies and can heal naturally.
